can someone please tell me why Adam wore the mask and helmet during the popmart tour i though it was great but what was the point? I hope to see him do it again during the new tour.

I have absolutely no clue. This is one of those things I don't care to know just for the sake of not knowing. I mean, it was great as you said, but it makes it even better that we don't understand it, I think.

Just to fill you in:
Masks and industrial suits were worn on stage by bands such KLF, and also by many UK and European "Rave" bands and Mc's in the late 1980's
Industrial equipment is also worn by Political protesters throughout the world both as a means of concealing identity, and also as a statememt on the seriousness of the protests.
I think that this was just a bit of off the wall fun and who better to do it than teh funky chicken Adam himself!
And also, who cares why?

Was it not just playing up on the Village People theme ala Discotheque video?
Larry was military boy, Edge was Cowboy and Bono was Boxer...
Anway who cares why? It was a cool outfit and suited the bombastic mood of the tour.

Unfortunately that wasn't a mask. Those were his teeth. During the PopMart tour Adam suffered from anxiety attacks before each show that would cause his teeth to swell up even larger than their normal size and cover his entire face. Usually though by the third song he would calm down and his face would return to normal.
