Hi guys....was just thinking about the new tour and what it might be like....Bono has already acknowledged that its time he got back to making music. Now Iv got no problem with the political slant on the last tour as it worked well, especially with those set of songs but it may be time to shelf it.

U2 have made their point about poverty/war etc and by and large everybody has listened and many have done something about it as a result of this. However to make sure that this tour doesnt turn ito their last one I would like to see a return to the Zoo TV and POP swagger and arrogance.

It would enable them to avoid the inevitable Sunday Bloody Sunday, BTBS, LAPOE, One, Streets medly.......instead why not replace it with a Discotheque, Mofo, real thing, Ultra violet, Zooropa medly???

Im not saying dont play Streets...but just play it without the flags in the back ground and play it with the white flashing lights like in Zoo TV!!

What do you guys reckon?? Do you reckon they should abandon flags, speeches and political songs and replace it with up beat tunes??

I think they should....but don't think they will. Asking Bono to not bring any sort of political speech to the concert is like asking.....well, it's just not going to happen.

25% political, 75% rock

vertigo tour was a little bit to much political

I would agree with this.
Bono really has to say something and I think it's just U2-ish to have a few political songs/speeches. And BTBS, SBS, WTSHNN and (for instance) Please, RTSS and LAPOE are great songs, so why not playing them? But I agree they should return to their roots: a rockband. They have made their point, now Rock and Roll should rule again.

McGuinness said one or two years ago it would be bigger than they ever had done... So...

Of course It should be rock and roll, but they SHOULD play songs like Streets, BTBS, Pride, Miss Sarajevo because they are great songs.

And yes: I would really love to see songs like Mofo, Discotheque, UV, EBTTRT in the setlist

yeh i agree.....i didnt mean dont play these songs....but i just meant dont play them all one after the other and dont play them while bono is wearing a flag of some country....play them for the fact they are great songs and great pieces of music!

Exactly what I thought. Let their music/show rule again. Takes us back to ZOOTV times where show rules, but politics do have some influence in the show. Reduce the speeches, and give us a bigger show

political is ok but please just let it come through the songs. Love And Peace is fine, SBS is fine but no need for speeches or blindfolds etc. Use the songs to get your message across man
