It's crazy how fast the delay adds up, isn't it?

apparently it's as much as 20 seconds in some venues. The O2 arena in London has a 2 second delay from mic or pick up to PA and thats considered world class

It reminds me of that story someone posted about when they got to play Party Girl with the band and she said Bono shouted that in her ear while they were playing...about how much delay there is and how you can't listen to what you hear over the PA.

The Saitama 2006-12-04 IEM wasn't too bad - I think it was my first IEM and having never heard one before. But the Elevation ones were nothing short of horrible. As long as the click-track isn't too overpowering, that's fine, but when you can hear the clicking even in the loudest parts of the performance, then that's not cool.

I think there are devices out there that can latch on to the IEM frequency and record what it its transmitting. Just like a recording from the radio. I stand to be corrected though. . . .and they sound shit

The MI808R UHF stereo body pack receiver is frequency agile over a 24MHz bandwidth with 16 selecable pre-programmed frequencies. It utilises advanced dual-antenna true diversity technology that eliminates signal dropouts and enhances signal stability. This high quality receiver operates in user selectable mono or stereo output modes and features a lightweight, exceptionally durable alloy case making it the perfect choice for IEM systems in todays pro-audio applications.

I'd say that would be the kind of thing that they're using?

Actually, that is one I don't really care for all that much. Bono's vocals are sort of piercing and flat on it.
People complain about the metronome (clicking) sometimes. But honestly, to me, once the music kicks in it just blends with the music. Whats the difference in that and Larry tapping the cymbals in time? Nothing. Quiet parts, it can be prevelant sometimes, but otherwise its not.

The quiet parts are the ones that are the worst in those recordings. But like you say when the recording is loud, you don't really notice it, unless you're trying to. I'm listening to that Saitama IEM right now (Bad), and I can hardly hear it, if at all over the cymbals.

B-Man's doing a tough job there then...and he's mostly on the b-stage

Logically they probally erase old soundboards. Employees who are fans of the band that played spare them. Just my theory.

Huge for me. Larry is a drummer so he's meant to tap the cymbal. The IEM click track isn't a part of the listening experience for me when listening to IEM recordings hence I don't like nor listen to the buggers.
