  1. I know more about guitars than most people here so I'm makeing you all a FAQ concerning how diffrent models sound.

    Fender Stratocaster: Pretty much the most straightforward sounding guitar ever. This ain't nescarily a bad thing. When testing the sounds of other guitars, it a decent idea to go off how they sound compared to one of these.

    Fender Telecaster: Among the twangiest sounding of guitars. They excel at country because of this, but can still be used for rock very easily. Most people who use these heavily tend to have there custimized.

    Gibson Explorer: Among the most ringing of guitars. Known as the Edges prefered make.

    Gibson Les Paul: Has a nice thick sound. Tends to be preferred by hard rock guitarist, as well as blues guitarist.

    Gibson SG: In the words of a buddie of mine who prefers one of these, he explaned he liked it because it sounded like a cross between a Tele and a LP. A nice all purpose guitar. You can play damn near anything on it well.

    I'll post more some other time if this doesen't get shut down. I hope this helps people who may have wondered about the pros and cons of certain models.
  2. Evening sir. You are doing it again. You are back on roll with opening too many topics. I know that you love your guitars and your other bands but it is my personal opinion that states that there are just way too many topics from yourself and each one is only marginally different to the one before it. This is a U2 forum and we'd like it to come across as a U2 forum. 98% of us are here for U2 and although some do like to input when you open another topic about the Eagles i'm pretty sure you could blow your load over on an Eagles forum whilst at the same time, sharing it with actual Eagles fans. I wouldn't call all your threads needless but 95% of them are out of place and slightly killing the 'U2ness' of the place. Please cut it down a bit. . . or use your own topic
  3. You gotta admit my knowledge on this is pretty good though. Still I'll cut it back. I vow unless I find some really ass kicking boots not to open another topic till the end of the month.

    I don't doubt your knowledge but you don't need a new topic everytime you want to show it off. Remove 'until the end of the month' and replace with 'until necessary'

    I think this said it all Aaron. If you're worried it's going to get shutdown in the first place, then don't do it.

    We all love hearing from you; a lot is added to the place by you - information, enthusiasm, fun. And yes, random posts, youtube vids etc. For all that we take the piss, it wouldn't be the same without you and you take it very well. But please listen to the crew member when he asks you to cut it down - all these topics do make it a bit hard for us to trawl through active topics to get to the stuff we want to see about U2.
