I agree with the Edge showcase idea.

Look at how Martin Gore has his moments with DepecheMode and Moders love it,
Obviously we go bonkers for Edge so absolutely he should come back, and maybe that song in 'edgeback.swf' the first one, was all his.

Gretsch White Falcon was the Van Diemens Land guitar

btw, are there any songs you hope they WON'T play again on the next tour? not necessarily because you don't like the song anymore but.. you'd just wish they wouldn't play it for once.
(does a thread like that exist already? the question just got to mind when I came back here)

for example, I like 'one', no doubt. great song. but then again.. it's been played so often by now, maybe taking a break for one tour wouldn't hurt? so it can get re-invented at another point.

ARGH! One must stay BUT not be used to the same excessive degree, same with BTBS, SBS etc. I'd also say SYCMIOYO, Yahweh aswell - I like them on the album, but no way near as much live...Mysterious Ways too - it's lost the verve and appeal it had on ZooTV. The PopMart versions were kinda ruined by Bono's voice suffering from buggeration. Elevation tour wasn't too bad though...

(and about not being sure where to ask said question - don't worry, this be my topic so you can say what you want on 'ere )

(hehe thanks! )

ha. I see, opinions will probably vary lots on this one.
I'd agree on SYCMIOYO, but just because it feels like it's hurting bono to sing it again and again. I don't know on the other hand I liked the acoustic version of yahweh very much and mysterious ways should NEVER leave the set list lol. interesting opinion though. I'm curious to see what others will say!

Hmmm, I'd never thought about SYCMIOYO in that respect, but I see what you mean - I was more thinking that it just doesn't take off live in the same way it does on the album. Plus I'm not keen on the way Bono sings it live, when he goes all over the place on the first few lines...and Edge's guitar sounds wrong tonewise. But that's my opinion lol...and I still stand by what I say about Yahweh and Mysterious Ways lol!

I agree with Harry. Mysterious Ways has been shit since ZooTV. It was made by Bono's falsetto and he just doesn't/can't/won't do it anymore.

Dirty Day
Lemon (if he's up to it)
Acrobat..

oh balls, all the usual stuff. We've done this before...

hmm, mysterious ways is one of my top 10 songs. maybe that's why I'm so clingy

We have, but I guess if we keep repeating ourselves, the chance that one of the band may chance upon our fair site and notice this thread increases marginally

On that note, Edge/Larry/Adam/Bono, if you're reading this;

WHO'S GONNA RIDE YOUR WILD HORSES!!!!! in full electric, á la ZooTV but make sure Edge sticks the solo on the end (plus all the rest that have been mentioned...)
