Here's another one for you lot and as ever, it is top drawer. Thanks to those who voted for Elevation this week. This video comes from the last night of the 1st Leg of the Elevation Tour and the band are in mighty form. I for one am no fan of the Boston DVD, sure it has its moments but the show as a whol eis very somber and the atmosphere seems a little depressing for some reason. This show however is light in mood, has a better setlist (Wild Honey debut featuring Mr Lanois and Bono reading the lyrics from a sheet), Ground Beneath Her Feet and one of those awesome 2001 performances of The Fly. The audio on this one is top top drawer courtesy of Chris Voynet (for Larry fans, hit the treble booster EQ and turn it up loud) whilst the 2 cams provide a great viewing experience. All credit to the tapers here, they don't just film Bono, they get a good range of shots of all the band members, great stage shots and they are mixed very well. I have watched this show countless times both on my iPod and DVD and have never tired of it. Micheal Stipe and Bill Clinton both in attendance also. Take it and enjoy it.
Hilight : Wild Honey and Shine Like Stars with the crowd singing 'wohhh ooh ohh ohh' over Bono. Immense.
PS : Ignore the quality of Elevation. These cameras performed poorly when the house lights were on and the quality drastically improves before Beautiful Day.

did you know? The song 'Scarlet' was inspired by a thought in Bono's mind: "does God need salesmen?". The band was also in a minimalist mood that day.

"I don't know why, but we always had this belief that there was something sacred about our music, that it was almost holy, as absurd as that sounds."
