1. U2 Fans are not as cool in real life

So i'm walking down Boston Common the other day, and i see a guy in a green PopMart shirt so naturally with all the comfatability i have on here (and well pretty much everywhere) i say "Hey great shirt man, great tour" and he walks on making a point of not noticing me.

    *cough*asshole*cough*

Then i'm in Mc Donalds i'm at the drinks machine getting myself a Fanta, not too much ice, not too little.
So i see this girl wearing a Boston garden Vertigo shirt, so naturally i say "hey, best tour ever eh?" and she hides!!! she hides her goddammn face!!! She hides from me like i asked her to reveal herself!!! What is wrong with people that you can't even say hello

    *puzzled face*

So my conclusion is this dear U2Starters. Enjoy the conversation you are having on this website. Because meeting U2 fans is not as cool as you think, the majority of them are stuck up assholes *cough* interference *cough*

    Thanks for reading
  2. I'd say hi to you
  3. What do you mean, they're all arseholes when you meet them? You're too bloody right. I find many of them to be stuck up (not you lot) but I have met quite a few friendly ones around. In fact at the Clipsal 500 race which I love, a guy came up to me and asked if I was a fan of U2 and I told him of course, so then we spoke for a couple of minutes about our favourite songs, shows etc before the concert began.

I'd say hi to any of you here if I met up with you. Maybe they just don't know about U2start, and are U2.com fans???
  4. I approached one guy I knew to be a U2 fan and we are now best mates so there are exceptions.
  5. Oh yeah i mean there's always really nice fans and i give kudos to them, its just sometimes the supposed sense of fan 'community' isn't as strong as we think it is..
  6. You just meet the wrong people.

All the U2 fans I approach or meet in real life are great people, U2 fans are usually great in person, very kind and nice and always passionate about their taste of music. The mood at an U2 concert is always great because of the great people.

  7. What Remy said

I have to agree with Remy in this one, here in Argentina at least, it's very very common to find walking down the street people who wear their favorite band's t-shirt and it is unusual to see a U2 t-shirt, but i have seen a few and had a good response when I approached them...
so maybe you've met the wrong people, U2 fans, or U2 fans like us who really follow the band are great guys!!!
so don't be angry, just keep trying and I'm sure you'll fin someone nice!!
    cheers!!
  11. They think they're fans because their favourite songs or the songs they know are Beautiful Day, Pride, One, Sweetest Thing, The Saints Are Coming and seen DVDs like Vertigo Chicago. Ones like those.

Hand 'em a copy of October, Boy, Zooropa or POP and see what they think then. I would bet 50% of those "casual" fans haven't heard of Mofo, An Cat Dubh or October before.

you met the wrong persons...just yesterday i met a new girl because i was wearing a u2 t-shirt.....a girl looked at me very surprised and when i asked her if she liked u2 we began talking about everything about them...

u2 TRUE fans, the ones who are not ashamed of being in love with u2's music, exist

    .....you haven't met them YET!!!!!
