1. Make Edged signature series Explorers? seriusly its kinda his trademark.
  2. I certainly hope they will.
  3. Either that or a Fender signature "Blackie" Stratocaster.

As far as The Edge's Explorer is concerned, I have the next best thing... an actual 1976 Gibson Limited Edition Explorer. Same make, model and vintage as The Edge's. So I am pretty stoked to have that guitar.
  4. Or maybe a Les Paul. You got some pics of that guitar of yours? The "blackie" strat is the one from the streets vid if I recall.

Just get yourself a new Fender American Vintage '70's Reissue, change the pickguard and other stuff to black, and you're set. It already features '70's era greybottoms pickups. What other mods would be neccessary to replicate Edge's old black Strat from the '80's?

By the way, how much does a '76 Explorer like yours go for these days? I'd sure like to get my hands on a new one, and change out the pups with something close as possible to the original T-tops.

    Thanks in advance!
  6. i seriously doubt it...gibson maked signatures of people who use almost exclusively their guitars, like Jimmi Page.

Slash too, I checked the site (the LesPaul is his trademark guitar, so it's understanable)

Yeah, I noticed when Noel Gallagher had Epiphone make a custom guitar with the Union Jack paintjob that was pretty much all he used on the subsequent tour. Also other than an occasional acoustic guitar Bono has stuck almost exclusively to his Gretsch Irish Falcon (which he takes 4 of on tour), although on the Elevation Tour he used a Gibson for I will follow.

Obviously the Explorer is the closest thing Edge has to a "signature" guitar, but he uses so many different guitars...the many different Strats, the white Les Paul he just donated to charity, the red Rickenbacker, the red Gretsch that has been seeing more use lately
