You know he has multiple Explorers ,all of which are damn near identical.

Yeah, found out it is not the actual EXPLORER...it's just an explorer.

But nevertheless, one played by Edge!

Yeah, but if it was the one, the first one...its probably the guitar he played the most. The one which carries the most history. If I was him I wouldn't even think about taking it on tour.

And we all agree he'd be a lunatic to sell THAT one.

Question - what's the guitar Edge used for One during PopMart...? It looks like the same model that he uses for Crumbs From Your Table...but other than that, I couldn't say I think he uses it for Please...(again, PopMart version...)

Yes, but we assumed it was the original...

While it's easier to list which guitars were used for what songs during which tour, recording-wise it's a bit more difficult as most songs have more than one guitar track and more than one guitar used.

That said, almost all of Boy was the Explorer. But after that, the boy has been a-collectin' them there gee-tars.

The RIckenbacker used during PopMart was the 1967 330 12-string (fireglo finish) He used that on R&H > Elevation tour. THAT Ric was drowned in 2002 when HQ flooded whilst the band was in New Orleans for their Super Bowl halftime show.

Note: Another of the reasons Edge got involved in MUSIC RISING: He (and all of U2) knows what it's like to lose instruments and music equipment in a flood.

What did he use for the album version of With or Without You? Also, what does he use on One Tree Hill and Party Girl?

ALbum version of WOWY probably had a few guitars. The violin-like sustain was from a Strat equipped with the Brooks Infinite Guitar system. Only three in existence: Brooks has one, Edge has one and Danny Lanois the 3rd. Legend has it it was 'fussy' and Dallas got shocked many times. By the end of the ZOO tours, Edge began using an E-Bow. (consult yer ZOO TV Sydney DVD's). By PopMart, and since, Edge has used various Fernandes (brand) guitars with "sustainer" pickups.

PopMart: Either the sea foam green or the orange "Decade Elite" w/sustainer pickup in the neck position (no longer made)
Elevation: Native Pro in metallic dark green w/sustainer pickup in the neck position(customized with Hot Rail pickups in the middle and bridge position and Decade style neck
Vertigo: RetroRocket w/sustainer pickup in the neck position. Only custom thing about this guitar was the black finish. (Oddly enough)

The solo bits on One Tree Hill were with the Bond Electraglide. An ODD Bird of a guitar. The fingerboard doesn't have frets but is sort of sawtoothed. Hard to explain... GO here:Please login or register to view this link for more information on this guitar.

For Party Girl, chance are that he used his Washburn EA40 Woodstock Festival electric/acoustic (as seen on the Red Rocks video), as it was his main acoustic in the 1980's.

What did he use on seconds? Its hard to find good vids of that song.

"Seconds" was his Washburn EA40 Woodstock Festival Series electric/acoustic. The Lawrence soundhole pickup that Edge used helped give this guitar it's distinct flavour.

You never cease to amaze.

Just out of curiosity, which songs did he use the Rickenbacker for during R&H?
