Cheers chap, as ever, great work! Your efforts are definitely worth it, I think we'd all agree And re. the ZooTV Strat., that is one sexy beast of a guitar! Has that '73 LP been used on live stuff, would you happen to know? (Apologies for the constant stream of questions but I can't help myself ...)

Jeff would be out of a job in no time! We can't have that! Plus I have a feeling Dallas would get a bit freaked out by his internet crashing 24/7 due to the enormous amounts of e-mails along the lines of "how much delay does Edge use on "A Day Without Me"?!" etc.!)
No worries about the questions. I will answer those I know. Look up those I don't via books, magazines, online, video... and ask Dallas and The Edge the rest when I can, as most questions that you can think of that I can't answer... I want to know too!

tell the feckers to pull the finger out and work out the sound to Ultraviolet again

I've had a few conversations with Dallas, Edge and Adam about "UltraViolet (Light My Way)". I have heard that Edge has said that one is not necessarily easy to pull off live... but who knows... they might pull it out again.
There's a better chance at "UltraViolet" than there is "Two Hearts Beat As One" which Edge has said he doesn't like playing live, which is sad as I love "Two Hearts...".
It's possible, after all... many, including myself, thought we'd NEVER hear them play "An Cat Dubh / Into The Heart" again pre-Vertigo tour and lo and behold - they played it again.
I know that Dallas has long been lobbying for "God Part II" also.

If that's the case, BRING ON THE NEW ALBUM/TOUR! And bring on the return of God Part II and Ultra-Violet...
Re. An Cat Dubh, 'cause I don't have the Chicago DVD (yet! Like Slane, I should have them in a few weeks...being my birthday'n'all...), did Edge play that on the LP like Electric Co. beforehand? Or does he change to, say, the Explorer? I'm thinking something Gibson because he recorded Boy on the Explorer (most of it, anyway)...

man your access to the band is extremely cool. You tell edge that Gerard says get Ultraviolet sorted. Just tell him to kick every pedal he has and he's bound to come across it

lol, he'll definitely put his back out to achieve it now...
To me it sounds like a down-gained and uncompressed version of UTEOTW's tone, especially the Vertigo tour versions, with the delay more pronounced. I reckon if he starts from there, he'd find out...

What better to play An Cat Dubh than An Strat Dubh!! He used his Black and White 1973 (pretty sure of the vintage) Fender Stratocaster for An Cat Dubh / Into The Heart during Vertigo tour

No no... I am not saying that I've had unfettered access. it ain't like that. Although, they really should hire me to be Dallas' assistant and a consultant to them for the site and fan club.
I am saying that I've had many chances to talk with them during the tours over the years. Plus Edge lives in LA. So I've seen him a few times here. I have had more opportunities than someone that lives in Portugal or Japan perhaps... being that I live in LA in the US where they spend a lot of time.
But YES, I will be sure to tell Edge to get his act together and work on "UltraViolet", damn IT !!!!

Multiple meet and greet/conversations is big access in my book. Vertigo tour was so perfect for Ultraviolet. It's gonna come back. I just know it

In that case... I have LOTS of access... certainly not as much as I'd like!!
And I'm with you... it's time to put NYD and mjaybe a few of the other often played tunes aside for a bit... and play UltraViolet !!!!
I vote for "era specific" encores! Zooropa, Crashed Car, Stay and Lemon, anyone? How about Mofo, Hold Me Thrill Me, Please and Gone? Zoo Station, Even Better Than The Real Thing, Acrobat and UltraViolet? Can I get an AMEN ?!?!?!?!
I think doing something like that for the 2nd encore... and to revolve them from show to show... would be great...
Come on... Gloria, I Threw A Brick, October and I Fall Down - GENIUS!!
