  2. Victor Jara was a poet, singer-songwriter, and political activist from Chile. Soon after the US backed coup 1973 he was arrested, tortured and ultimately machine gunned to death - his body was later thrown out into the street of a shanty town in Santiago.

    didnt he also have his hands cut off and they forced him to play his guitar or something like that?

    No, they broke his hands, so he couldn't play the Guitar.
