I have just listened to 'Promenade' and thought woo its actually a good song, but I see it has never been perormed live, why is this? sounds simply enough to play. Perhaps its a bit quiet and not enough energy in it to make it to a live set list.

What other songs off their albums have never been performed live? (to me 'when i look at the world' was played live even though it was a snippet and sung to the music of bad)

Does u2start have every u2 bootleg ever made, or are there a few out there that were recorded but are not uploaded?

Most of them (I think 1044) but not all shows are/have been recorded. Also depends on the taper; if he/she doesn't want to upload it they won't or maybe some are very rare. I've seen quite a number of early shows which are available in other places but not here (I have a few of them too, so maybe I'll start contributing as my gift back to the Start). Some songs they just won't play (such as Red Hill Mining Town, the vocals are too high to reach). Apparently The First Time wasn't ever going to be done live because "it's harder than it looks" - Melbourne, 2006-11-19.

Gone is unlikely again because as Edge said "We murdered the song" in a webchat.

I think maybe next tour we'll see some great stuff which was never meant to be played.

Just listening to the San Diego opening show of Vertigo and it is said that they haven't played "40" since 1983. I thought they played it sometimes during the Elevation Tour, or was this only a snippet?

If I remember well, 4th of july have been played as intro song in several Unforgettable Fire shows. But if you mean that it was never perfomed by u2 "phisically" then I do agree

That's right, but broadcasting a song over the PA system isn't exactly a live performance

I think they should play it again to make amends. Although I thought it sounded alright.
Shame they haven't played Red Hill Mining Town.

Do you reckon they will ever play some songs off pre HTDAAB albums that have never been performed live or is it too late in the day?

They say every night has to be a good night. And if not then there's a reason why. I thought it was alright.

no not the whole thing. It doesn't have the extended intro and Bono doesn't sing the slow 'Zooropa.......bla bla bla bla bla..... Zooropa ..... . .bla bla' parts. He starts from 'and I have no compass, and I have no map. Check out the first 2 Zooropa Wembley shows. Both soundboard quality

1st played (of only 3 occasions I think) at Glasgow on 8th August 1993

Red Hill Mining Town (full band) soundchecked 1987
Playboy Mansion (full band) played in rehearsals 1997
Peace On Earth (full band) soundchecked and rehearsed extensively 2001

The only one I'm surprised they didnt play at an actual concert full band was Peace On Earth.

Hi!!can you give the link of these 3 songs to download? thanks

And the world continues to wonder why Acrobat was denied its fiery live potential.

Edge was referring to the performance of Gone on the Boston DVD. He was asked why he got pissed at the end of it. That was his answer. He was only referring to that one performance of it

May not be played again, but its not because they thought they murdered the song on a nightly basis.

There are no recordings of those songs being done circulating in general trade circles. So I dont think you will find them.
