I open this "weird" topic because sometimes during a live show there are some situations that drive Bono to say something funny.
The one I like so much is on 2005-07-31 - Copenhagen during the snippet of "seven seconds" played on the music of Yahweh. The chords fit perfectly Cherry's song and Bono says: "These chords are pretty similar, Edge" and then laughs.....
I've always asked myself the reason of the "Is this rock'n'roll !?!?!? " into Until The End Of The World. I don't understand this shouts. Do they mean a criticism against theirselves?
Of course one of the funniest ever is "Guitar hero?" into Party Girl...
"The last time you saw me, i was waving a white flag... And now look what you've done to me... I'm a popstar in platform shoes!" (Rotterdam 1993-05-07)...
Well i don't think it was funny but it WAS weird
=> His talking before I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Milan 2005...
"You kind off invented the movie-stuff, didn't ya ?
Yeah, under stained-glass (?) windows there were the first movies
Stories told, trough color, projected by sunlight
The glomo, just up the road, is like the first cinéma in Italy
Euhm..... I don't know what i'm talking about here but... Excusez-moi "

it should sound more like:
"You kind of invented the movie-stuff, didn't ya ?
Yeah, under stained-glass windows there were the first movies
Stories told, trough color, projected by sunlight
The Duomo, just up the road, is like the first cinéma in Italy"
Well, actually it's kinda a weird speech, but I assume it is related to the Milan Dome, its colored stain glasses and the light projected by them into the church creates some magnificent visuals.....
This is my understanding.....by knowing the Duomo, I can say that
"Good people of Yorkshire, you made a terrible mistake.George Harrison says you shouldn't be here. It's all big fuckin' hats and lemons and air. This one's for you George.....pump it up ! " - Bono
"There's some flower people (children) down there I see.Every gig now.Must all be on the Internet or something, are ya ? I can't even operate the hoover, man! " - Bono
one of the funny calls to White house. This is from Washington DC - August 16, 1992
Bono: Hmmm...maybe I’ll lucky tonight...
Girl: White House…
Bono: Hello, is that the White House??
Girl: This is the White House, may I help you?
Bono: I’d like to speak to George, if I could, please
Girl: George who?
Bono: Uhmm, George the President, Mr Bush, excuse me!
Girl: The president is not available…..(omitted)....
Bono: the President of the United States is not available to ME!???!??.....oh, well…I mustn’t be as
important as I thought I was…
Bono: Can I leave a message?...(omitted)...if you could tell the President to watch more television…!!!
