Does anyone else see this connection?
Anyway, like Streets, its a fantastic opener but I would like to see a show ended with Streets and lead into COBL as an Encore start...
Did i even answer the question or ramble off on some completely different point...?

Now that you mention it i kinda see wheree you're coming from.. i see the connection COBL seems to be alot more mature and earnest.
As for answering the question personally I love it as an opener its just so intense and briliant! Nothing like it..i couldnt imagine it without that being the opener

I think Vertigo works better as opener. But then again COBL doesn't work very well in the middle of the set...

COBL is much better as a opener (show or encore) than Vertigo will ever be...
It's better than Mofo and Elevation for me, and it would be better than Zoo Station if this one wouldn't have the great Nazi Drummers Intro which actually has.
However, it sucks when put into the setlist, after I Still Haven't Found or All I Want Is You...
The evolution of the openers for me is Gloria > Where The Streets Have No Name > Zooropa > COBL.
Zooropa has been said as "The 90's Streets", and COBL is the new Zooropa...
PS. I always put COBL as a encore opener, but I'll it a chance as a show opener...

COBL has to grow a bit more. I wonder how they play it on the next tour, if they play it..

I'm sure they will, and I hope they do a Encore Opener with it...
i don't expect COBL played in other way as it has been, with the long intro, etc.

Opener for me. Like in Chicago, it can't be better in the middle of the setlist.

for the vertigo tour was it a great opener, but looking all tours i prefer Zoostation as a opener... (or streets)

I don't know why, I prefer Vertigo as an opener, and City segued from All I Want Is You (just like in the Milan DVD)

i think cobl is a greater opening than vertigo because in amsterdam the song came
half way true the show and at that time it was dark enough in the stadium to use the screens !!!
so from vertigo until cobl they have not used the screens only the light show !!!! (that's 10 songs
befor using the screens )
i though that's a little pitty
i also like cobl more because for me it's the new " where the streets have no name " !!!
as opener than ....
and i also liked the vertigo version at the end of the concert way much more than as a starter .
because ...HEY !!!!! the screens work !!!!

COBL is a great song for me, one of their best !
It can be a song like Streets, Bad or Still haven't found... i think
And every great song is a potential great opener, this one is of the most beautiful intro's you can get i think. Certainly better than Vertigo, that should be played later on because starting too powerful isn't good

Streets is Better. I think they should play them sequentially.

i think that it's a bad opener...Vertigo was much better for the Vertigo tour...and they could srill use Zoo Station, their best opener ever.
