1. Topic for the bonus track of Songs Of Experience.

    Lyrics:
    Right at the start
    You put this into words
How you think we should proceed, yeah

    You wanted me alone
With the pictures that you've seen
    Of where you haven't been
But where you want to go

Ask the leaf and ask the bird
Not to sing or speak a word
    We are not fictitious characters
But we don't belong to this world

The book, the book of your heart
    One tiny mark, an entry
In the book of your heart
    It's written on skin
    To even be in
    The book of your heart

You can change your name, or even who you are
That's the beauty of the scar
That is the contract of the heart
    This is our wedding day
This is the promise that we'll stay
    Through the long descriptive passages
Where we don't know what to say

The book, the book of your heart
    One tiny mark, an entry
In the book of your heart
    It's written on skin
    To even be in
    The book of your heart

Babe I don't belong to you
Love is what we choose to do
Babe you don't belong to me
    It's not that easy
  2. Just put the lyrics on our song pages. I love them! Anyone else?

Very Leonard Cohen-like as someone remarked. A fan who heard it remarked that Bono's vocal performance for this song is very Velvet Dress-like.

yes, that makes me very curious to this song He also said that it didn't fit in on the album, so it'll be interesting nevertheless.

Probably means it would be among best songs if it was on the album. U2 are trapped with making sure the "Sonic Landscape" of the album is not diverse, and sticks to the formula. I always like an album where a song or two shocks me or gets me out of the emotion of the other tracks. Still, I have high hopes for SOE, but we will see.
  5. Hardly fair. There's been much diversity to what they've shared from the album so far.

I think Edge has repeatedly stated this album is very diverse
  7. Wow, those are really quite pretty lyrics. I'm more curious to hear this one now. And since The Crystal Ballroom was pretty much the best SOI track, I'm hoping the excellent bonus track trend continues...
  8. What really interests me is that these lyrics feature no repeating chorus.

I'm ALWAYS up for a song which breaks the conventional verse/chorus mold. I think this is gonna be another treasure of a song like The Crystall Ballroom !
  9. I finally heard this one. Really impressed with the sound. Reminded me of the best songs in Passengers. Bono's sexy voice from In Your Blue Room, Slug or Velvet Dress is back.
  10. It's a mellow little song. Beautiful lyric. I don't think it's another treasure like The Crystal Ballroom. I need to hear it again when the album comes out. I recorded it with my phone as my labtop was playing Rob's live stream so it's a crappy copy.

Yeah, it may not be a classic, but it's solid and good to see it's another musical direction the band tried with SOE.
