Another edition of #U2liveshow! We will broadcast the audio recording of a show from the past via our Mixlr.
As part of #U2liveshow we will host many liveshows (audio, but also video if possible) with lots of interesting stuff around it. We will plan them on different dates and times to accommodate as many fans as possible. Every liveshow will also have a rotating host, which will be crew members and fans such as yourself. If you want to host one, let us know!

An energetic festival performance from U2 from the War tour took place in August 1983. Quite some snippets were sung during this show, in particular in Surrender which featured 3 snippets. This is also the first time U2 snippeted "America" in a song (The Electric Co.). This show was broadcasted on TV and is available in good quality, a very great gem from the War era!
This was one of the first shows I ever downloaded in video (before Youtube even existed, Oh My!) and I have fond memories of it. It's just an hour long and it doesn't feature many of these years staples (like the killer Threw A Brick / A Day Without Me combo), but oh man what a show. They must have known it was being broadcast or something because the energy was unreal. They even managed to engage with that reluctant and cold festival audience!

perhaps this is common knowledge, but most people will already have part of this show at home: five out of eight tracks on the UABRS album are recordings from the German TV registration of this concert - courtesy of WDR's Rockpalast.
"So proud of these songs... we really went there. I took the advice of my old friend and producer Jimmy Iovine who told me the person you have to be to write this album is a long way from where you live."

did you know
In the song 'Zooropa' there are a number of advertising slogans in the lyrics like 'Vorsprung Durch Technik' (Audi), 'Be all that you can be' (the Army), 'Eat to get slimmer' (Slim-Fast) and 'Fly the friendly skies' (United Airlines).
