I have Boston audio - who wants to master?
    ================================================

I have raw audio from the 6/25/17 Boston show, but don't master my own work and my friend is backed up - anyone care to master it?

I would be glad to help you out, but I'm away till next Monday...don't know if that's a problem? Pm me if this is an option for you.
  3. Excited to hear that a recording does exist! Can't wait to hear it and thank you to you both for all you do!
  4. BIG thanks to you Nate for contacting the taper & bringing the recording to u2start

And that's when the trouble story began…

For it turned out that the recording suffered from some mild wind "rumble" and even what appeared as something - or someone? - rubbing the microphones from halfway BTBS up to In God's Country.
So there was this Boston - or Foxborough to be utterly precise! - recording, but it was a real challenge to make it somewhat agreeable.

So far I had only little experience with audio clean-up in iZotope RX 5, but finally I had the feeling I could make this program work for me (instead of the other way round as in having invested quite some time to familiarize myself with it ).

To cut a long story short, I was able to remove most of the wind rumble and with something called "spectral repair" I minimized the audio damaged caused by the rubbing in BTBS, RTSS, RHMT, and IGC.
It is still far from perfect and at points you can hear some processing sound, but we agreed that the recording was at least "listenable throughout," and for the most part even quite enjoyable.

Still, due to the wind, sometimes the music gets blown away. As a result the recording sometimes sounds a bit (too) crisp. I don’t know if
    A) it could be fixed without making the rest of the recording to “dark” (perhaps with some "even smarter" iZotope setting?), and
    B) if it should be fixed. Perhaps it only makes things worse.

Therefore, at this point, I would appreciate some constructive feedback as to see whether it would be worth to spent some more labour on this recording. At the moment this appears to be the only released Boston/Foxborough recording, but perhaps there are some others recordings considered to be shared. I just don’t know.

So before sharing a final version in lossless, here is a so-called beta-version (or “test” version) for all to download here (mp3 only).

Or just listen to this sample (Exit)

If you like, have a listen and let me know what you think.

    Cheers,
    Joyce
