Performance

I couldn't believe this was a 3rd leg performance- normally at that point, the songs become routine and setlists can become stale...but hearing this show, it was as if the songs were being presented for the first time, the band more enthusiastic than I've ever heard on a US ZooTV bootleg. Bono's voice is both hearty singer and Fly-like party animal all throughout the show, and the rest of the band supports him flawlessly.

Sound

I listened to Zoo Station thru Until/World on my way to work, and through a car stereo, I have to admit this sounded not so great. I was disappointed that the recording was rated a 4 until I played the rest of the show through a good pair of headphones- the sound was incredibly improved. Amazed that this good of a recording was taken.
Recording: Audience microphone - 4 stars

Audience

One barely audible girl does try to sing along a few times, but she's quickly drowned out by crowd noise. They're there, but not an active part of the show in this recording. It is clear that they enjoyed the show, however, and also that Bono was very interactive with them. "Mysterious Ways" got the biggest, most audible chanting going during a song, but this is no showcase of an audience. For that, try out the popular Milan gig.

Overall

Recorded on my first birthday, about 5 minutes from my current house, I may be a bit biased- but downright honestly, had this boot been from anywhere else, I'd have been just as in love with it. It shines ("like stars in the Chicago sky"? Perhaps.) throughout the entire performance.

Highlights:

Zoo Station
Mysterious Ways
Until the End of the World
Whiskey in the Jar
Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World
Angel of Harlem
Love is Blindness

Lowlights:

None. Can't think of anything to complain about other than the aforementioned sound and audience dents.
