Performance

Nice, if not rough performance from the first half of the October Tour. Bono is still developing his voice of course, but is very good during this show.

Adam is just on fire. I espcially enjoyed his extended slapping solo during I Threw a Brick.

Larry is also amazing. October and War, IMO were where he was at his best, and this show highlights it well.

The Edge... well, he's The Edge. He's always great!

Sound

Really good, for an audience recording from late 1981! There's some audible hiss and other artifacts, but that's a consequence of the recording.

Gloria starts off very low and muddled, but the taper gradually fixes it. Also, the recording as a whole could use more bass.

Audience

They don't overpower the songs, which is good. They're very receptive though.

Overall

The band puts in a fine performance for the San Franciscans.

Highlights:

I Threw a Brick/A Day Without Me
A surprisingly good With a Shout
The Electric Co.
Almost the entire show, really.

Lowlights:

Gloria is only decent
Rejoice (sadly, because it's one of my favorite songs and I've heard better versions)
