Overall

This was my 13th U2 show since 1992 and it happened to fall on my birthday. It was great to be there with my family in the GA section. The band sounded good. Loved that they started with SBS. I too loved hearing all the deep JT cuts. Bullet was the highlight of the night for me. Amazing visuals and incredible guitar work. The screen resolution was awesome. My thoughts on the setlist...it's tough to play an entire album through without losing continuity. Streets is normally a climax but it came early. "Side 2" lost some energy until Exit (which was awesome). And then it went back down with Mothers. Every song on JT is amazing....but it's tough to maintain energy with so many slower tunes. I noticed the same thing last year with Bruce and The River tour. They picked up some steam after the album set, but then it was over. I probably prefer the big spectacle tours like ZooTV and 360 vs.this more stripped down affair (by comparison).. I will say this, the band was clearly enjoying themselves with the large 80k+ crowd. Can you name another band that's been together this long AND still puts out new material of the quality of SOI? They have no peers. With that said, they aren't as spry in their mid 50's. I agree that not all the notes were hit. But I love this band and so appreciate the inspiration they've given me since I first started listening in the mid 80's. See you in Chicago this weekend boys!
