Audience

With the exception of the two people in front of me who kept taking selfies of their selfies and getting in the way of my view in the process, the audience that I saw was grooving the whole night. Best audience participation? Everyone singing for Bono in "One" during the encore. I LOVE audience singalongs! And can't forget Veronica (was that her name?) belly dancing. I thought "better be careful, last time they had a belly dancer on stage, Edge married her. ;-)

Overall

This was my 10th time seeing U2, my first time seeing them (or anything) at Madison Square Garden. When I saw were my seats actually WERE, I was stoked (I'd thought they were upstairs just off the main stage so was thinking we'd be looking at the side of the stage the whole night, but it turns out they were kitty corner from that, so ended up right along side the small stage, with a perfect -albeit small- view of the main stage.) And after seeing the 360 tour and the Claw 3 times last tour, wasn't sure what else U2 was going to be able to pull out of their collective hats to top that. Not sure they COULD top it in the smaller arena setting, but their stage setup, that video screen (oh YES, that video screen. Like they took the Claw and flattened it out

They used it to GREAT effect!), and the great sound really wowed me the entire night. Looks like we missed a couple of songs that some of the other MSG shows got, but I LOVED that we got October for the first time since 1989, that - along with some of the other old school songs they included - was awesome to hear again live. I shot about an hour and 15 minutes of Sony Handycam video footage, including several songs in their entirety, so once I get the DVD put together for it, I'll upload the torrent for it here again like I did the last three shows I went to for 360.

Oooh, and I see there's an audio recording shared? Thank you! I recorded the entire show with a Zoom recorder, just as a backup in case the audio on my video crapped out again, but since I was already juggling two cameras, had it sitting in the outside pocket of my purse, hoping the multidirectional mic would pick up SOMETHING. And it did, but just listening to the first track of the audio recording here, what's here is SO much better.

Can't wait to hear the whole thing.
