Comments: Bono made a surprise appearance just outside Coachella, joining Belgian-Congolese artist Baloji for an impromptu performance at a ranch in La Quinta, California near Indio. They improvised lyrics together during one of Baloji's songs. The collaboration took place at the Rolling Stone Rock Room launch party for Diesel+Edun's Studio Africa, a series of events bringing African and Western musicians together. With said riff, 'One' was born, ultimately changing the outlook of the sessions and more importantly, keeping the band together.
