Excellent performance- the band felt really alive, and you could tell they were glad to be back in New York. The energy of the show is enough to give the show a listen, for sure.
The sound is NOT a 2-star recording, like the page suggests. I hope we can get this changed. The sound is great, in my opinion. The band can be heard clearly, the audience blends well, and the sound is not even distant. I'll never understand why this was originally rated a 2. Some of the 360° shows circulating now are rated 4-star, and sound worse than this. Recording: Audience microphone - 3.5 stars
Really just a top notch audience, actively participating in the show and really in awe of what the band was doing.
While the performance and audience were both spot on, and the sound was a very very nice surprise from what I expected, this isn't exactly a "stand out" Vertigo show, which is what I would save a 5 for. Download this if you're not 100% familiar with the Vertigo Tour, or if you haven't heard many high-energy shows lately/at all. I'll only remember certain parts of this show for being absolutely stand-out, and they are....
-The Electric Co.
-The Fly (I don't know what Bono was saying when he changed one of the last lyrics, but he was so energetic when he said it, and the crowd simply ate it up)
-Miss Sarajevo (opera section is to die for on this boot)
There weren't any true lowlights, just the fact that this show didn't really do a hell of a lot to stand out to me. Maybe it will for you though, and it's worth a listen, so give it a shot.

"Rick Rubin has a larger looming presence on this album than his 'thank you' deserves. He asked 'Why can't more people cover U2 songs?' And it's because, with all the great sounds and arrangements, you can forget that there isn't a song there."
- Bono on Rubin's influence on Songs of Innocence
did you know
The band considered releasing The Joshua Tree as a double-album that would have included B-sides. Bono was the most vocal proponent of the idea, whereas The Edge argued for the 11-track version that was ultimately released.
