Performance

Along with the other two NYC shows, this one is no less inspiring and powerful: given the still tense, raw nature of NY post-9/11, there was no other band or artist more suiting to help heal the broken people of NYC than U2, plus no better tour to experience such healing. On all 3 nights the band gave everything they had as did the audience, but something about this 2nd show in particular where the high level of spiritual emotion and elevation (excuse the pun) is as way up there might make this the peak of thier NYC shows. The whole band is on pure fire here, every note, drumbeat and vocal sung and played until the very last breath, putting their whole performance in this one show. And it shows,

Sound

Excellent sound quality... for the most part. At times it sounds a lot like a Soundboard recording and those can put too much emphasis on the band and less on the audience. I like my band / audience level to be balanced, but for this show, you still get a clear balance of the crowd and the band.

Audience

Emotional, excited, ecstatic and elevated (again, excuse the pun), the crowd put their whole selves into the music, not holding anything back.

Overall

Flaws and all, this is still a great show -- Irish rockers healing a nation in grief and mourning with their music in ways no other band can. I think if Sarajevo was their big healing moment for PopMart, these shows and this one was the healing moment for Elevation. Truly and forever a great and powerful show.
