The first few songs are rather standard, but this changes with One's she's a mystery to me extended snippet, although Hear us Coming would be nice to have seen as well.
This rendition of Numb was solid, and following it are the highlights of this show: Zooropa, Babyface, and Stay. This is the most Zooropa songs ever performed back to back, as far as I'm aware.
Zooropa was super solid, it sounded great even though it was only the 3rd performance of it. I honestly think that it should've become a permanent part of the setlist. The only downside is that it starts at "And I have no compass," like all Zooropa performances on ZooTV and I+E.
Babyface was solid as well. It sounded good even thought it was only the second time it was played, and I'm not even really a huge fan of Babyface.
Next up is Stay. While not as much of a rarity as the others I've discussed, it was a good rendition and was only played ~20 times on the tour. That ends the 4 Zoo songs streak.
We go into I Will Follow Next, only played 10 times throughout the entire tour. It sounded fine. There's better versions imo, but it's a highlight due to it's rarity.
We'll skip past Satellite of Love and the Sarajevo linkup because there's not really much to dicuss there.
Bad was a great rendition with a Fool to Cry and The First Time snippet leading into Bullet The Blue Sky. Plus, the violinist was cool.
Bullet The Blue Sky was as usual on Zoo phenomenal. I was listening to the The First Time snippet and was expecting the explosion into BTBS but it still scared me anyway lmao. Bono gets slightly annoyed at the end and insults every country on the face of the Earth. Zoonited nations boys.
RTSS-Streets was as usual great. Bono just.. speaks the first line of streets though, which kinda throws me off for a bit. He's just like.. I want to run. IIIIII want to hiiide. IIII wanna TEAAAR down the WALLLLS that HOLD ME inside." and it's wack.
Skipping past Pride, Confessions, Desire, and Lady Diana phone call, we have Ultraviolet, which is a solid performance as per usual. This is one of my favorite songs on Zoo. (also for the guy on Discord who prefers when he says the frick word, he says the frick word. lol)
Now we have a bit of a wack ending, lacking WOWY, and instead skipping straight to Love is Blindness and CHFIL, both of which were good, the LIB solo was great as usual.
Sound
Honestly I was surprised this was an AUD. This is such well recorded that it could pass as a SBD lmfao, the audience is rarely present which some people dislike but I don't mind, actually I prefer them quieter. One thing with it is during CHFIL there's someone dropping stuff around the taper, which kinda throws the vibe off. But otherwise it's a solid recording. Recording: Audience microphone - 4.5 stars
Audience
They are around, but like I said in the sound quality review they are pretty quiet, which I don't mind.
Overall
Highlights: One, Zooropa, Babyface, Stay, I Will Follow, Bad-Bullet The Blue Sky, Running to Stand Still-Where The Streets Have No Name, UIltraviolet
Questionable performances:
Where The Streets Have No Name:
With Bono starting off the first verse with just speaking, which throws me off for way longer than it should. But honestly not a big deal.
Desire:
There's nothing wierd about this performance vs any other Desire I've heard, but I personally just despise Desire on Zoo, so it's a downside for me.
What was dropped?
Well there's of course songs they dropped to fit in these new ones, so here's what was usually there but wasn't:
Tryin to Throw Your Arms Around The World, Angel of Harlem, When Love Comes to Town, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (Dropped permanently a month prior), With or Without You
So of the dropped songs, the only ones I actually missed was TTTYAATW and WOWY.
Overall:
This is pretty much my favorite Zoo show now. It took over Dublin because of the rarities, and the shocking good recording. While I do miss WOWY and TTTYAATW, I'll trade it for Zooropa, Babyface, and I Will Follow.
