U2’s Bono was playing along with the famous Touareg band Tiniwaren at the Festival Au Desert near Timbuktu. The festival was held under extra security measurements after armed gangs kidnapped tourists in the region. Bono was at the festival with 20 people of his One Foundation. He was accompanied by the Malian minister of Culture.
