Performance:
Negatives –
• Not so keen on Beautiful Day performance
• Miracle Drug isn’t great vocally and lacks a little cohesion (but the guitar is great, especially Edge’s solo), but that isn’t isolated to this boot. Probably explains why they dropped it for later legs.
• No Unchained Melody at the end of One which was a good feature at other concerts during this stage of the tour; BUT (see below)
• No “Shine Like Stars” on WOWY (not common on this tour though)
• You get Party Girl with absolutely no recollection of the lyrics by Bono!
Positives
• New Years Day is strong
• Love “No regrets, no tears goodbye” snippet at end of SYCMIOYO
• Edge’s guitar on LAPOE is some of the best I’ve heard
• Audience + performance during SBS is very good
• Very good Bullet, good snippets, but I can’t hear a Please snippet as listed on this site?
• Great little bits in Streets – “I love you Adam Clayton” and “Nice one The Edge”.
• We get ‘Do you hear us coming Lord” in One, which wasn’t usual in this stage of the tour
• Great The Fly
• Excellent snippet of My Sweet Lord at end of Mysterious Ways
• Audience excellent during WOWY
• You get Party Girl (Edge knows it at least!)!!
• I always liked the Vertigo encore (maybe because they did it at the show I went to!)
Audience:

Sound:
Negatives –
• On headphones the sound flits from ear to ear occasionally which is off-putting.
• Audience noise is a little intrusive occasionally, especially on quieter songs eg One & Yahweh (singing wrong lyrics, talking during song etc)
• Edges guitar varies from being very prominent in the mix to a little quiet
• Bass is a little quiet
Positives
• Despite the above it is all very clear and one of the better boots of this part of the tour that I have heard.
• Bono is very clear at all times
• Larry is very clear
Overall:
Generally a great boot. Deserves its 4-star rating on here.

Performance:
---Intro - I'm getting those goosebumps. hell yeah! I love the fact that you get pretty much the entire song on this boot. It gets you in the mood. Love the guy who you can hear yelling "U2! U2! U2!" He's totally taken with anticipation. I remember feeling that way!
---Vertigo - All i have to say is this song is electric! definitely a stadium anthem. crowd participation is unbelievable. Go Germany!
---The Electric Co - man i love this song. i absolutely blew my lid after I saw that they were playing this song at the start of the tour. great return of a classic! edge has a mad solo here.
---Sometimes... - I don't think there was a bad performance of the song the whole tour! so much emotion runs deep in this song. you don't get more personal than Bono introducing this song and dedicating it to his father. It takes a lot to put yourself out there with things like that. Bono carries this song and the audience carries Bono.
---Where The Streets Have No Name - love the "I love you Adam Clayton" part
---The Fly - this one just sounds great!
---With Or Without You - the crowd is the highlight of this track, there's nothing like that feeling you get with thousands of people singing together. I love the placement of this track in the setlist. Perfect!
---Party Girl - special gem
---Vertigo - I definitely like that Vertigo ended this show.
The not so good:
---Beautiful Day isn't so great
---All Because Of You - just don't know what's going on with this song. In my opinion, they haven't matched the performance since the Brooklyn Bridge show.
Audience:
This part of the bootleg isn't reviewed, only rated.
Sound:
Sound fades back and forth occasionally. Overall mix is great.
Bono - Excellent
Edge - Excellent
Larry - - Excellent
Adam - Good. Bass it the weakest out of the four
Overall:
It's been a while since I've listened to a 2nd leg boot from this tour. Nice return though. I remember this summer. I would sit in my office here in the States listening to Virgin UK Radio 1 hoping to catch an update from the tour. Great times. Great sounding concert!

Performance:
Ups
~Not a lot unfortunately. Very average I thought with no stand out performances.
~Liked the inclusion of Hear Us Coming Lord at the end of One. Not a rare snippet but nice to here
none the less.
~Despite Bono not knowing the lyrics I did enjoy Party Girl. It showed the spontaneous side of
U2 that doesn't raise it's head all that often.
~I liked Bono's 'Hold me inside' at the start of Streets. Different to every other performance of
Streets that I have heard.
~Bono had a good go at New Year's Day. He tried to hit a few high notes instead of just being
conservative.
~My Sweet Lord snippet during Mysterious Ways was decent (Bono did sound strained though)
Downs
~Still don't like Vertigo as an opener. Especially with the extended drum intro. If it just kicked right in
with the main riff then I would 'get' it more.
~All the songs were belted out in quick succession without fault but there wasn't a single
performance that stood out for me.
~Very uninspiring setlist.
~Bono didn't seem to get the crowd into the show very much. He didn't seem to form a bond with
them. He didn't play the crowd as it were.
~Beautiful Day was poor. As was With Or Without You. Bono butchered this song up until the
very final leg when he actually had a go at singing it.
~All Because Of You =
Audience:
Pretty decent crowd participation. I don't mind the occasional clapping although the talking during
Sound:
*Great sounding bootleg I thought (especially for a stadium recording). One of the better recording
from this leg of the tour. Definitely worth its 4 stars.
*With my headphone/ipod combination the bass from Larry's bass drum was just way too prominent
and made the listening experience a little uncomfortable at times.
quieter songs was a tiny bit annoying.
Overall:
In summary, this show will probably just disappear from my knowledge. I didn't enjoy listening to it and I can't see myself ever giving it a complete run through again. Just very uninspiring. It lacked the nervous tension and energy of the 1st Leg shows, the relaxed mood and setlists of the 3rd, the emotion of the 4th and the awesomeness of the 5th Leg shows. In terms of sound quality then it comes highly recommended by myself but if your after a great performance then go look elsewhere.

Performance:
Positives:
- Some good, but rare snippets
- Party Girl was hilarious. It's always funny when Bono forgets the lyrics
- I loved this version of Running To Stand Still
- Beautiful Day was above average
- The Fly
- Mysterious Ways
- A great performance of SYCMIOYO. I'm not usually a fan of this live, but for some reason this version stuck out to me.
Negatives:
- Larry's drums drove me nuts! Especially during the songs with "Military" drumming. I first noticed it during LAPOE and SBS. It seemed to calm down for a few songs. But it picked back up with Pride. It sounded like he was drumming with two bricks or two pieces of iron.
- Miracle Drug gave me a headache. I don't think Edge was playing in time. It seems that he was off just a little bit in this performance.
- Boring Setlist. It was better with Beautiful Day though. I don't like Vertigo being linked with stuff from Boy. I would much rather see it linked with stuff from Achtung Baby or ATYCLB.
- All Because Of You should not be played live. It's a good studio song, but when it's played live it sucks.
- Just an average performance of The Electric Co. I think this song got boring or predictable after a while.
Audience:

Sound:
Very clear quality.
Overall:
Overall, it was a boring show. But I'm biased because I'm not really fond of 2nd Leg Vertigo. I hate the setlists, especially with Vertigo opening and ending the show. Sure, it gives it that "Retro" feel, but it just doesn't work. I'd much rather see it opening the first Encore. Setlist wise, I prefer the 1st Leg and the last leg. And if they are going to play some old stuff that they haven't played in year's, why not bring some other stuff out of the archives to mix it up? How about 11OCTT or Twilight. Maybe even Stories For Boys?

Performance:
--Both performances of Vertigo just owned. It's the brother to I Will Follow.
--The Electric Co., in my opinion, is better on the Vertigo Tour than any of the other tours. This was no exception. Awesome.
--No yell during New Year's Day? What's up with that?!
--City of Blinding Lights is an amazing song live, though I hate it in the middle of the set, it's a better show opener. I hope on their next tour, it's an encore opener. (By the way, it's the brother to Streets)
--The trinity of pain (aka Love and Peace or Else, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Bullet the Blue Sky) rocked also.
--Streets and One are always holy songs in any show, as well as a chance to proclaim their love for each other. I love you, Adam Clayton!
--Zoo Station & The Fly, same opinion as The Electric Co. although it varies more.
--Yay! My Sweet Lord! Peace George Harrison.
--I don't know the lyrics to Party Girl either, Bono!

It's nice to hear a good audience bootleg of this tour. I want to hear more of them. Peace from Gelsenkirchen.
