Performance

I thought the show was excellent; the sound for night one in San Jose was too loud over all, but maybe that made for a good boot which I just reviewed! LOL My favorite show was night two but so far the best boot is from night one.

I wanted to post a review of the first night bootleg of the San Jose concert that I thought was the best out of the two I went to (including the IEM mix of San Jose night 2). I haven't heard the IEM mix of night 1, but having heard the IEM of night 2, I can say that the best live boot of either shows I have heard so far (and the one that makes me feel like I was there again) was this boot of Night one in San Jose: Schoeps CCM4’s > Tinybox > Sony PCM-M10. Great sound on my Ipod, Bono's lyrics are easily understood, and I don't have to turn the volume up as much as for the Xavel IEM of night two. Thank you to whoever recorded this one!

The audience seemed sluggish on some new songs but they revived on old familiar ones and there was a surprising enthusiastic response to American Soul live! The second night for me was different because I was in GA instead of the stands...

Général

I loved being able to see U2 this time round, especially knowing that they have toured in the States exhaustively in the past four years. I wanted to see the JT tour but don't do stadiums any more...so I was thrilled to see U2 locally in an arena performing new songs from SOE and including songs from SOI. Plus the big bonus was hearing the premiere of Red Flag Day!!! Yay! What a moment that was! Now, if only U2 had segued into Summer of Love that would have taken it over the top! I rate the second night five stars because I was GA plus I love that they included some songs dumped later on (Raised By Wolves) and premiered a new song. A very special night for me. I love the personal narrative flow of the show. I'm looking forward to seeing what it morphs into in Europe...
